Field of Play Assistant
Job Description

Purpose:
To ensure all things pertaining to court side including team benches and surrounding areas (Technical Officials’ bench, Match Officials area) remain tidy and in position during the game.
Responsible To:
Match Manager
Oversight of:
Ball Patrol
Responsibilities:
The Field of Play personnel are expected to:

Ensure court and surroundings are set up correctly.

Ensure Team benches are tidy and ready for Team Arena entry.

Ensure court side chilly bins and drink barrels are filled with water, additional hydration and ice pre-game and at half time.

Support movement of bags and team officials and subs to team bench.
During Game:
-
Complete where necessary a half time court sweep (check with Match Manager beforehand).

Coordinate the Ball Patrol on the straightening of signage.

Support Venue Lead with team requirements.
Post Match:

Assist Venue Lead with post-game movement from court area and/or to post-match commitments e.g. autograph signing.

Ensure the Team Benches are tidy.

Refill chilly bins and drink barrels.
-
Refill ice from court side.
-
Check on and tidy performance analyst area.
End of Day/Event:
-
Empty and clean out chilly bins and drink barrels.
-
Empty ice.
-
Retrieve items from performance analyst area.
-
Pack down items around court as required and put for transport.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ideally the Field of Play Personnel are someone who:

Has an eye for detail

Is fast on their feet
-
Has a friendly personality
-
Can take direction well
-
Has initiative
Estimated Time Commitment and Period of Appointment:
Approximately one/two hours prior to doors open and up to two hours post-event.
